Cultivated for centuries, lavender is more than just an aromatic plant: it’s a symbol of Provence<\/strong>, just like olive trees or the song of the cicadas. It is renowned for its soothing properties and its uses in cosmetics, perfumery and cooking. Every summer, it attracts thousands of visitors who come to discover the lavender fields in bloom<\/strong>. <\/p>

Where to see lavender in Vaucluse and Dr\u00f4me?<\/h2>

1. The Plateau de Sault (Vaucluse)<\/strong><\/h3>

The Plateau de Sault<\/strong> is the ideal place to admire lavender in flower in the Vaucluse<\/strong>. From mid-June to the end of July, the fields stretch as far as the eye can see. An enchanting setting just a stone’s throw from our Le Moulin de C\u00e9sar<\/strong><\/a> residence in Vaison-la-Romaine.<\/strong> <\/p>

\ud83d\udfe3 Things to do<\/strong>: stroll along the hiking trails, visit the Aroma Plantes<\/a> distillery, Sault Provencal market (Wednesdays). “Annual lavender festival on August 15. <\/p>

2. Valr\u00e9as and Grignan (Dr\u00f4me Proven\u00e7ale)<\/strong><\/h3>

Close to our accommodation Suze Luxe Nature<\/strong><\/a>This area abounds in lavender fields in the Dr\u00f4me Proven\u00e7ale<\/strong>. The landscape alternates between lavender, vineyards and hilltop villages. <\/p>

\ud83d\udfe3 Things to do<\/strong>: stroll through Grignan, visit a producer and take part in the Corso de la lavande in Valr\u00e9as<\/strong><\/a> (early August).<\/p>

3. Ferrassi\u00e8res and the Plateau d’Albion<\/strong><\/h3>

At an altitude of 1000 m and just a few kilometers from our residence the Cloister of the Dominicans<\/strong><\/a>Ferrassi\u00e8res is famous for its PDO fine lavender<\/strong>. The village organizes an annual Provencal festival in early July. <\/p>

\ud83d\udfe3 Things to do<\/strong>: attend the lavender festival<\/strong><\/a>discover the secrets of distillation, buy handcrafted lavender products.<\/p>
