Jean-Michel Loiseau - passion for performance
At 54, which he just celebrated on August 10, Jean-Michel Loiseau isn’t just chasing time… he’s ahead of it. A passionate athlete and relentless competitor, he has been running for many years. But it is above all in the last four or five seasons that he has turned a corner, combining top-level performances with prestigious qualifications.
“I’ve always loved running, but it’s really in the last few years that I’ve structured my training and the results have come,” he confides. “Today, I want to give myself the means to reach the national Top 5 and defend my chances internationally.”
Stunning personal bests
This year, Jean-Michel knocked off three of his own times:
10 km: 33 min 46 s – a time that places him among the top French Masters over the distance.
Half-marathon: 1 h 14 min 11 s (4ᵉ Master 3 out of 2,131 competitors in Paris, i.e. in the top 0.2% of the field).
Marathon: 2 h 39 min 32 s (4ᵉ Master 4 out of 3,627 in Paris, in the top 0.1%).
These performances confirm his consistency at the highest level and his status as a regular at the French Championships – 10 km, half-marathon and marathon – which he has contested every year since 2020.
A busy sports schedule
The schedule for the end of the season matches his ambitions:
September 14, 2025: French half-marathon championships in Vannes, with a clear objective: to break into the national Top 5 in the Master 4 category.
- October 5, 2025: participation in the Sedan-Charleville Classic. 105th edition, the oldest road race.
- October 12, 2025 : Metz Marathon in a 2-person relay with fellow runner Laurent Michel. They are putting their 2022 title back on the line.
November 2, 2025: Participation in the Abbott Master Marathon World Championship in New York, a legendary event bringing together the world’s elite in the world’s six biggest marathons. His qualification, achieved in Frankfurt last October with a time of 2 h 44, is the fruit of unfailing discipline.
A passionate trainer
In addition to his personal exploits, Jean-Michel passes on his know-how as acoach in an FFA club, where he supervises over 80 adult members. ” Seeing my athletes progress is as gratifying as breaking my own records”, he emphasizes.
a taste for challenge ...on two wheels
When he’s not running, he’s pedaling. A lover of road bikehe has been taking part in the Colnago GF Mont Ventouxan event that is as demanding as it is spectacular, testing both the legs and the mind. He shares this challenge with his wife, and it was on this occasion that we had the pleasure of meeting them.
Indeed, the Loiseau couple have become regulars at our vacation residence “le Moulin de César” in Vaison-la-Romaine.
Off to New York!
From Lorraine to the world’s greatest sporting capitals, Jean-Michel Loiseau follows his path with passion and perseverance. His goals are clear: to shine at the French Championships, then proudly defend his colors on the world stage in New York.
